3/9/07
Okay, it's been 2 months since our last update, but don't let that fool you. There's been plenty going on at the ACG HQ that is not only noteworthy, but is also seriously kick-ass and killer...
First up, the SXSW news. The ACGR showcase will be on Saturday 3/17 at Red 7 (located next to the Beauty Bar on 7th St., basically 7th and Red River). We don't have the set times dialed in yet but Gorch Fock, Cat Scientist, Attack Formation & Tia Carrera will all be blow'n crap up with there rocking skills. Check out the poster here. We're also gonna be having a day show at The Whiskey Bar (5th & Guadalupe basically) on Wed. the 14th. The ACGR & Friends welcome to SXSW 2007 rock show. Peep that flier here. In addtion we'll be hosting F*ck by F*ck You once again on Saturday the 17th before our showcase at the Typewriter Museum (1306 E. 6th st. enter through alley), this will be #9 and the most killer to date, no doubt. Click here to view the flier. We'll also be having F*ck by F*ck Ya'll on Friday the 16th for the 2nd year. Click here to view that flier.
Now for new record news. We have 4 awesome new records coming out this spring that everyone is gonna want to pick up at their favorite purveyor of rad recorded sound or at our nifty, super high-tech web store. First off, we've got the new Attack Formation record We are alive in tune hitting shelves in April. This record is so awesome I can't even think of how to describe it. Let's just say, it made me re-think pop music. They'll be having an in-store performance to celebrate the release at Waterloo Records on Friday 4/20 with a release show the next day at The Beauty Bar.
In May we have 3 more records coming out as well. First, is the much anticipated 2nd US Bleach03 release entitled The Head that Conterols Both the Right and the Left sides Eats Meats and Slobbers Still Today. I'm sure it sounds cooler in Japanese, but either way this record is frikkin bad ass and is gonna put smiles on lots of Bleach03 fan's faces.
We've also got the US debut of another addition to our international stable, Lebanon. These dudes are from Tel Aviv, Isreal and are not only super nice (they made me killer meal when they were here for a tour last year!) but also super awesome. Primarily instrumental, I like to think of their songs as scores to some presently unwritten film. That records gonna be called Planet Rubble. Last but not least, we've got the new record by Olympia, WA based Lozen. These 2 girls know how to make rock music really rock. Think Big Business meets Heart. Yeah...Their album Enemies Against Power will drop on May 15th along with the Bleach03 & Lebanon records.
Speaking of those new records, each of those bands will be hitting the road to support them this spring as well. Bleach03 & Lozen will hit the West coast together in May, Attack Formation will be out that way too in that same month and Lebanon will hit the road after SXSW for a midwest & east coast tour, they'll also be returning later in the year for over 2 months of touring. What troopers...
We're also gonna have our second Blue Healer Records release by Austin prog/metal/bad-ass band La Mancha. We're trying to get this one out ASAP but because of the super bad-ass nature of the hand-made packaging it doesn't have a hard release date yet.
After SXSW we'll be posting a ton of new tour dates and re-vamping the site with some cool new content, new music, and a new store that you can buy downloads directly form our site! Stay tuned rock fans

So here comes 2007
Well 2007 is nearly upon us and it seems like the last 2 months just flew by. We had a ton of stuff going on around here. We had 3 new records in October by Tia Carrera, The Snake Trap & Diane and the Shell, Gorch Fock and D&TS toured up to CMJ where they were met by Cat Scientist, The Snake Trap and Tia Carrera for what was probably the best CMJ Showcase this year if not in attendance then in sheer fun, rock, comraderie and general good will. Everybody had a great time and played awesome sets and as always the Trash Bar was fantastic and treated us great. Big ups to the CMJ Samurai Ad Sales Assasin Johny Chiba too for comin' out and chill'n. Sorry about the traffic on the BQE.
A bunch of the bands played a warehouse show the next night and it was a total blast as well. That night the ACG crew in the house was Tia Carrera, Gorch Fock, The Snake Trap and D&TS. Our good friends UME were in the house that night too. Thanks Todd P for hook'n us up.
After CMJ The Snake Trap hit the road on the Props Road Fools tour of Mid-Western skateparks w/ 15 pro BMXers, 2 other bands & a camera crew to kick ass in skateparks from Milwaukee to Dallas.
It was a busy couple of months but, as always, we've got new projects in the works. Look for a new record from Attack Formation in April and record from this new band and dear friends of ours MegaZilla. This is one HEAVY bass and drums combo from Columbia, MO/Austin, TX. There'll be more to come about these guys soon but look for something in late Spring/early Summer.
We'll also have some exciting SXSW news in the very near future.
And on that little update we hope everyone a Happy and Fruitful new year!

Records slated for September are coming right along too. The mastered Cobra Bloog Hangover by The International Playboys is one of most straight up rocking effort we've heard in a long time and samples will be up soon. Check out the cover art by Win Wallace here. Gorch Fock is nearly done with their third album Thriller and it promises to be their best release yet. The Intrepid Focks, under the cover of darkness, dodged the security, crossed the police line and set to finding out if the tapes survived the catastrophe. After digging through the debris from the caved-in roof and an entire fallen wall the tapes were found and miraculously unscathed. The recording is near completion and from some of the rough mixes we've heard it is To is awesome

Wow. SXSW 2006 was an extremely busy and rockin' time here at ACGR. Our showcase at Spiro's patio 3/15 was a smashing success. Thanks to all the guys at Arclight records also for sharing the night with us. Tia Carrera was jamming out of control, The International Playboys were rocking hard and tight, and Gorch Fock played with an unprecedented 10 members on stage, including Don Stewart from Migas and Ben Webster from AttackFormation. At the ACGR headquarters backyard we held two amazing shows, Fuck By Fuck Y'all on Friday and Fuck By Fuck You on Saturday. Both shows were packed to the hilt with free beer, excellent music, and good attitudes. It is amazing what can happen when friends put their minds together and all work toward a specific goal. We can't wait til next year!! Our Japanese friends all had an great time as well. Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re and The Emeralds were back in the USA in full force, and many other bands like Ellegarden, The Rodeo Carburettor, Stance Punks, P'Ez, and Vasallo Crab 75 made their US live debut. Craziness and rock in general is the reason for the season.
2/19/06
SXSW 2006 IS NEAR!!! That's right that special week March when all hell breaks loose in Austin and there's more music happening than you can shake a stick at. Well, ACGR has their own little piece of that Rock and Roll pie w/ ton's of appearances by our bands and a showcase in the festival to boot. Check the Tours page for all the details...
In other news, The Redneck Manifesto and Attack Formation tour is at it's midpoint so anyone out in Cleveland, Chicago, Columbia MO, OKC/Norman, and Austin need to take heed and go see them crank it out.
Some good news on the Gorch Fock front, all the tapes of the new Gorch Fock record Thrilller made it out of the Sweat Box Studios Fire!! And the tapes from one of our upcoming bands, The Snake Trap, made it out safe as well. HOORAAAAY!!
Our first anniversary as a label is coming up on March 14th and we're gonna be throwing a big pre-SXSW show at Room 710 to celebrate. The entire line-up isn't set yet but it's gonna be a real humdinger that's for sure.
Also, you can now get all of our releases at damn near every download site you can think of so get down on it and download. You can also find our stuff in everywhere from Tower and Borders to you're local kick ass indie shop. With your help one day we might be able to afford that surgery our grandma's been needing so badly.

ACG is in the big apple. The Fock machine is lubricating itself in preparation for the rock show in Greenspoint tomorrow with MC Trachiotomy (www.toddpnyc.com). If you can, be there or be square.
9/16/05
Well our CMJ Showcase last night was incredible. Just ask anyone falling into the hole where the Trash Bar used to be. Nothing left. Just a crater at the epicenter of a rawk explosion. Tia Carrera started it off with some jams that made me think I'd died and gone to a sludgy, metally heaven. Morales was on super solid and Jamey and Erik were soooo locked in. The grooves were heavy and sweet. Attack Formation took the stage right on time and proceeded to blow a few minds. They played lots of stuff off the new album Somebody as Anybody and some of the old favs as well. Looking around the room one would have seen people standing shoulder to shoulder, packed in, smiling and bobbing their heads just soaking in the AF sound as it washed over, around and through them. Gorch Fock just smoked! After the microphone issues in the first song, the set went off splendidly. Joey Focker was in top form complete with a bubble gun that he used to punctuate many of the lyrics, "I...(bubbles)...Have(bubbles)...No Direction on the Water(bubbles)!!" kind of like that. They raged through their set and blew more brains out of unsuspecting showgoers ears. All in all our CMJ showcase was outstanding. All the bands rocked and the ACG crew descended into drunken reverie.
9/8/05
Hey Radio! Rock some Attack Formation! (please)
So everything here is going just swimmingly. We are preparing for our killer CMJ Showcase in NYC next week. It is going to be a blast as Gorch Fock, Tia Carrera, and Attack Formation rock the living junk right out of New York. Gorch Fock will be touring their way up there so all you kids in Columbia MO, Akron OH, Boston MA, Charlotte NC, Asheville NC, Pensacola FL, Beaumont TX and Houston TX are in for another Rock and Roll treat.
In other news our records are now at tons of stores and more and more are adding them everyday. If your favorite purveyer of rad rock hasn't yet gotten hip to our scene tell 'em about us and demand quality rock. You can also get our stuff through Amazon, This Website, Wherehouse.com right now and Insound soon. We really think everyone ought to own at least one of our records.
Attack Formation are in the formative stages of planning a winter tour. If you book venues and dig'em then email info@australiancattlegod.com and let us know. We're not sure of the routing yet so anything's possible.
Also, go catch Tsu Shi Ma Me Re on tour with the Suicide Girls nationwide for the whole month of October! We're going to be partnering with their label, Benten Records, in Japan and starting a new label called Benten Tokyo with TSMMR's Pregnant Fantasy as our first release. It will be available at the Suicide Girls shows and in stores 11/1/05 along with Redneck Manifesto's I am Brazil
8/22/05
So Here's the skinny on the last month. The Attack Formation release shows went off like a frikkin bottle rocket. Beerland was nice cozy and had a beautiful party atmosphere with libations flowing and Attack Formation showing they know how to have a release party. The Emo's show with Oneida and Ume was the icing though. Big crowd, big sound, and big ups to all who performed and attended.
Tia Carrera and Gorch Fock left for tour on the 16th for their Mountain West and West Coast tours. The press has picked up on their blazing trail well with good stuff showing up in The Salt Lake City Tribune, The Missoula Independent, Seattle Weekly, The Stranger, and The Portland Mercury. I think their compatriots at the weeklies in CA should take a lesson.
Our entire Catalog will hit shelves nationally On Sept 6th so go out and buy a record!!! Or at least enquire with your local purveyer of killer sound about getting our stuff in their shop. Also, thanks to Insound for picking up our fine, Austin made wares.
Things are in full swing for our showcase at CMJ in Sept. Our trusty intern Jared and I have been screenprinting posters like mad (my arms are about to fall off!) and the comp that we're putting together is being made as I type.
The Redneck Manifesto record, after several fits and starts, is totally on track to be in stores on Novemeber 1st!! Can Not Wait!
7/15/05

What's up peeps?
I guess it's been about a month since the last update not that we didn't want to update, it's just been a hella busy month with lots of killer stuff happening with ACG. First, we are officially re-releasing Tia Carrera'sThe November Session and Gorch Fock's first S/T record. We're pressing more so the love can continue to spread. And believe me, it is gonna spread...here's why. We have officially been picked up by two super rad distributors. Carrot Top Distribution out of Chicago and NAIL Distribution out of Portland (hey Portland Bleach03 will be there on the 24th!!). With their help our records will soon be available in stores around the globe!! So go down to your local record shop and demand the quality of Australian Cattle God releases be sold in your town.
In other news, Gorch Fock has been selling well in merry old England and is confirming the final dates for upcoming US tours in August, with Tia Carrera along the West coast and mountain states and in the Midwest, NE, and south for September and a trip back out West for October. Dates will be on the Tours page soon.
The Attack Formation record Somebody as Anybody is at the pressing plant now for an Aug. 9th street date and the Redneck Manifesto artwork will make it's way from Ireland tomorrow.
Also Australian Cattle God has found a new headquarters! It's way closer to downtown Austin on East 6th St and man is it cool. It's a lot bigger and has a great room on the back for a bigger screen printing operation than we have now and, get this, IT'S GOT A STAGE IN THE BACK YARD!!! You read correctly, ACG now has its own outdoor venue. Many of you Austinites may remember the Chicken Wire Ranch from FXFY 4 and FXFY 5 well that's the place. We want to rename the place. Help us rename the compound!! The lucky winner (if there is one...we reserve the right to use one that we make up if it's that killer) will receive a complementary Gorch Fock "typeset" T and a pre-release copy of Attack Formation's Somebody as Anybody and Redneck Manifesto's I Am Brazil !! Just email info[nospam]@australiancattlegod.com with "New Name Contest" in the subject line.
That's all for now folks...
5/14/05
Well April and May have been busy around here in the Australian Cattle God camp.
Here's a recap:
We are happy to announce that we have an official release date for the new Attack Formation album titled "Somebody as Anybody" and Redneck Manifesto's "I am Brazil". Those will be in stores on August 9th 2005.
Gorch Fock and Bleach03 toured together on the East coast and the tour went really well. Bleach03 also played two dates of Japunks shows, one in Philly and one in NYC. Those shows were with lots of other Japanese bands and from what we hear they were fantastic. The tour went splendidly and the ACG family wants to thank everyone who came to the shows and let the bands crash.

In other fantastic ACG news. We will be re-releasing Gorch Fock's self-titled album as well as Tia Carrera's "The November Session" in mid June. Hopefully these releases are going to coincide with the national releases of "Lying and Manipulating" and "Bleach03" they we all four be in stores nation wide. We're still seeking a distributor but there are some very promising discussions out there.
We're pleased to say that our CDs are going to be carried by the Rough Trade shops in London and hopefully that might translate in to something more far reaching over there. Thanks to Chris at Rough Trade
West Coast Bleach03 fans never fear... Bleach03 are coming back your way in June. Check the tours page for shows near you.
We should be getting the Blue Healer releases underway soon. We're in the final pre-production stages for the first few so hang tight for music you might never hear otherwise.

A few words
So, we here at Australian Cattle God are very happy to say that March was a good month and April promises to be even better.
Bleach03 and Gorch Fock made it through a combined 9 shows during SXSW 2005. Unfortunately one of Bleach03's shows had to be cancelled. For all of you out there that had hoped to catch that one but couldn't, our deepest apologies. They did however fly to Seattle the Sunday of SXSW to begin a West Coast Speed tour. In other news, Bleach has been in the top 30 at KBOO and very nearly charted last week at KDUP both in Portland. Thanks Portland.
Gorch Fock has also been getting spins on KSCU in the Bay Area. Fortunately Gorch Fock is going to be out on the West Coast this summer - July/August will be hot in Texas.
