Gorch Fock

Gorch Fock is a band that has a trombone.

Because if a flute is a Heavy Metal instrument, well then by golly so is a trombone. Even if it broken. Gorch Fock plays hard. Drummers equalling two. Guitars building walls and waterfalls of fire. Booming, looping vocals and trombone blasts that call for immediate action. Alien spacecraft lands in the middle of the mosh pit and Creatures from Far Away join in, shreiking in delight and laughing in bleeps and blorps.

Since their inception Gorch Fock has continued to drop jaws in the live setting. Whether it's performing on a custom made 30ft Ship stage or just blowing the doors off of the venue audiences continue to walk away from their shows blotto on rock. The duel drummers thrashing like so many trailer homes in a tornado and the power of the septet as a whole are something to be experienced live. Recorded they create sonic thunder that doesn't yield any of it's subtlety.

They've shared the stage with the likes of No Means No, Alice Donut, Helios Creed, Fantomas, Black Dice, Ariel Pink, Parts & Labor, Animal Collective, Stinking Lizaveta, Form of Rocket, Heroin Sheiks, Bleach03 (2 tours), Country Teasers, Areola 51, Attack Formation & Total Sound Group Direct Action Committee.

Press:

“infamous Texas-noise underground freaks ” – Village Voice

“Gorch Fock revitalizes Austin's hallowed tradition of avant-garde absurdity... Embrace yourself for the second coming.”
– The Chronicle

“The musical clusterfuck that is Thriller ends up sounding like the world's most melodic schizophrenic breakdown, all while maintaining some level of cartoonish violence not unlike Mike Patton's work in Fantomas. At times jarring, at times sounding like the Vikings burning down a radio-rock station with delightfully messy results.” – Thrash Pit
